A tried several times to compose a title for this blog, but there's so much to include that I ended up with something that's rather cliche'. My apologies for being boring.
The weekend wasn't boring, that's for sure!
Saturday most newsroom employees were here performing some physical labor. For a long time many of us have thought our workspace needed a little sprucing up, but all we ever did was complain about it. That is until these guys came along ...
I noticed a funny thing about doing work with your colleagues that's outside the realm in which you normally operate. It's great for morale and camaraderie, and leaving everyone involved with a great sense of accomplishment.
Michael and I are maintaining our movie-going streak. Sunday evening we saw "The Wrestler." This film might not be for everyone, but if you are a child of the 80s when the WWE and WWF became hugely popular you'll enjoy it. There is a lot of subtext in the movie as well. I won't ruin it for you, but I loved it. Plus, Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei are amazing. The Oscars will be fun to watch.
After the movie we stopped by Sonya and Steve's house. Michael claimed he needed to go over some business stuff with Steve, but I suspect this was the real reason for visiting.
I've never met a puppy or a kitten I didn't fall in love with, but this dog is incredibly adorable. He's peeing, pooping and chewing all over Sonya's apartment but it's impossible to be angry with him. He's just a pup, after all! Oh yeah, Sonya also made us spaghetti with Graziano's sausage. Yum. Thanks Sonya!
I'm out of time, gang!
Thanks so much for reading and have a great week!

Erin,
Just a nitpick -
WWE is the WWF - the World Wrestling Federation got sued by the World Wildlife Foundation, and was forced to change their name to WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). They even had a promotion "Get the 'F' Out about the time of the name change.
What kind of dog is Remington? what a sweet little ball of fluff. :)
Leave it to the hardworking photographers to do the dirty work! Where were John Bachman and Ed Wilson???
Remy's a real cutie--just keep him away from the Minolos.
Erin,
Samantha asks me daily, "When can we get a dog?" The pictures of Sonya's puppy... not helping. Really, that Remy has to be the cutest little thing I've ever seen. What kind of dog is he? He's so cute, I might have to break down.
Bob - you are right, of course. Can you tell I was not a professional wrestling fan?
A. and Maxwell - Remy is a french dog. A Coton De Tulear, I believe.
Tim - maybe you need to re-read my post. Our work crew was made up of all sorts of people, both in front of the camera and behind. Some folks weren't able to make it because they had other committments. That's life.
